EYES is a learning space for collaborative problem-solving and codesign to increase the supply and capability of early years education professionals. Our focus is the development and delivery of Early Years qualifications, including undergraduate and postgraduate programs, that are fit for purpose.

Objectives

Develop and pilot innovative approaches to professional experience including short-term practical supports to the successful completion of professional experience

Create a strong professional learning network to problem-solve issues as they arise

Identify and/or conduct research to provide evidence for program design and decision-making

Support early years educators to access and complete meaningful, relevant and recognised qualifications that help them reach their personal and professional goals

EYES aims to double the number of individuals enrolled in and completing Early Childhood Teacher programs by 2030, supported by a range of targeted interventions.

Our first two projects, supported by Queensland Government through the Department of Education, are Prac Swap and Flying Squad, aimed at relieving the pressure on centres releasing staff to undertake professional experience.

Who are we?

Australian Childcare Alliance Queensland (ACA Qld) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to ensuring that every Queensland child has the best start in life. As Queensland’s peak body for the sector, our membership represents close to 900 early learning (childcare) services, employing an estimated 16,500 early childhood educators and  teachers who educate and care for around 190,000 children of 250,000 parents.

We work with members, state and federal governments, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders to ensure that the sector adopts a coordinated approach that delivers the best outcomes for children, families and service providers.

We believe in quality early childhood practices and we are committed to the continuous improvement of the early childhood education and care sector.
